Anti-Reflective lenses

Anti-Reflective lenses

Anti-reflective lenses are a type of lens that has a coating, it’s also referred to as AR coating, multicoat or anti-glare coating. The anti-reflect coating reduces reflective light, which means more light is able to pass through the glasses lens rather than bounce off of it. This means that you’ll have little to no reflections on the front or back surfaces of your lenses which gives you clearer vision.

Anti-reflective coating is also a good idea for sunglasses. It eliminates glare from sunlight reflecting into your eyes from the back surface of tinted lenses when the sun is behind you. Generally, AR coating is applied only to the back surface of sunglass lenses because there are no cosmetic or visual benefits to eliminating reflections from the front surface of dark-tinted lenses.

Anti-reflective coating has multiple benefits, such as enhancing visual acuity, reducing eye strain and eliminating the “halo” effect around street lights or car lights when driving at night.
